An understanding of the relationships among tasks and work products of the project’s defined process and of the roles to be performed by relevant stakeholders is a basis for developing a
realistic plan.
2. Use the organization’s measurement repository in estimating the project’s planning parameters.
This estimate typically includes the following:
· Using appropriate historical data from this project or similar projects
· Accounting for and recording similarities and differences between the current project and those projects whose historical data will be used
· Ensuring historical data are valid
· Recording the reasoning, assumptions, and rationale used to select historical data
